The Buffalo County Community Partners presented the Dr. R.C. Rosenlof Volunteer of the Year Award to Kathy Gosch at the 2009 Central Nebraska Youth Awards Banquet on October 10. Kathy is the School Health Coordinator at ESU 10.

In presenting the award to Kathy, the Community Partners noted her efforts to build and coordinate the activities of the Buffalo County Health Ministry Network. Since 2000, she was instrumental in securing a grant to provide parish nurse training for area nurses. The grant provides scholarships to local nurses to learn how to keep their faith communities healthy. As the grant dollars dwindled, she continued to lead a monthly network meeting for 20+ local churches to learn together on how to be healthier. She did not allow the absence of grant funding to deter her mission to strengthen the faith community in health, and she continues to lead this effort today. Congratulations Kathy!
