Thank you for the opportunity to join all of you here at ESU 10.  Having grown up and spent my entire professional career in northeast Nebraska, I am looking forward to life in central
Nebraska.  I graduated from Neligh High School but spent my childhood in South Sioux City, Nebraska.

Educationally, I have a BAE from Wayne State College in Family and Consumer Science, English Endorsement from UNL, Masters of Arts in Curriculum & Instruction from UNL, and Masters Endorsement in Educational Administration from Wayne State College.

For the past 15 years, I have been at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, Nebraska holding many titles all centered on secondary/post-secondary outreach to partner high schools.  I served as Tech Prep Director for many years and most recently, High School Transitions Director and Northeast Nebraska Career Academy Director.  (Yes, two titles is correct!)  For the past 15 years, I was funded by Carl Perkins Grant monies working closely with NDE on local implementation and outcomes related to the state plan.   My previous job could best be described as an education broker between NDE, the college, and all high schools mainly working with administrators for program implementation and teachers for professional development and training.

Prior to Northeast, I taught 4 years at Columbus High School in English and Foods and Nutrition.  I also was the assistant-coach for girls’ basketball.  In addition, I taught two years at Elgin High School in English and served as the one-act and speech coach.

More important than any of the above is my greatest accomplishment:  my three children.  My oldest daughter, Thea, is a senior at UNK majoring in Biology and Public Health with plans for graduate school.  She is a 4 yr. golfer for the Loper women’s golf team and a member of Gamma Phi Sorority. My son, Thad, will be a freshman at UNL majoring in Accounting and
Pre-Law.  He is an avid bird hunter so looking forward to my move to the Kearney area.
My youngest daughter, Therin, will be a sophomore at Kearney Catholic and is a
dedicated volleyball and basketball player.

Personally, when time and opportunity allow, I enjoy running, camping, gardening, cooking, and spending time with friends.   As a family, we enjoy back-country hiking in Colorado and summiting a few of the 14,000 peaks as well.  Fishing is another family past-time that we
all enjoy.

In my transition here, I have heard so many great and positive comments about ESU 10.  It made the move easier to know I was coming to a great place to work and to work with
exceptional people.  I look forward to serving our schools and to meeting each and every one of you.
